James Turrell’s Twilight Epiphany Skyspace (Rice University)

Twilight Epiphany Skyspace is a site-specific installation by James Turrell installed on the Rice University campus and completed in 2012. The Skyspace features a ceiling aperture and a programmed LED light sequence at sunrise and sunset that lasts about 24 minutes and is ticketed to the public. Photographs and video clips of the changing light effects and the interior silhouette have been widely shared on social media and in national arts coverage. The work is maintained by Rice University and the Moody Center for the Arts schedules regular public events there.
