Carlisle Turkish baths

The Carlisle Turkish baths, established in 1909, are a historic Edwardian public bathing facility located in Carlisle, England. Known for their high-quality original tiling and Moorish-style architecture, these baths offered a range of health benefits through saunas, plunge pools, and vapor baths. Despite their popularity, with over 100,000 visitors in 1957, they closed in November 2022 due to high operational costs. A local campaign is underway to reopen the baths, aiming to transform them into a health and wellbeing center, highlighting their significance as the last Turkish baths in North West England.
