Earnaness

Earnaness, known in various historical forms, refers to significant locations in southern Sweden steeped in legend and history. Notably featured in the epic poem Beowulf, it is where the hero Beowulf confronts a dragon. The ancient stronghold of Aranæs, near Skara by Lake Vänern, was a site of political intrigue in the 14th century, witnessing the signing of treaties and the tragic fate of the regent Torkel Knutsson.
