Panama-Pacific International Exposition (1915) - most buildings removed

The 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in the Marina District featured dozens of ornate temporary exhibition buildings erected for the fair. Most of those Beaux-Arts structures were intended to be temporary and were demolished or removed in the years immediately following the exposition. The Palace of Fine Arts is one of the few original structures that survived in any form, though it was later reconstructed and restored. The exposition reshaped the Marina District but the bulk of its original buildings no longer exist.
