Deer Valley Rock Art Center (Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve)

The Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve contains over 1,000 prehistoric petroglyphs etched into basalt outcrops and is managed by the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation. The site includes a visitor center with interpretive displays and a short trail to view multiple rock-art panels that show anthropomorphic, zoomorphic, and geometric motifs. Archaeologists attribute many of the petroglyphs to prehistoric inhabitants of the region (often associated with Hohokam-era occupations), though precise dating of individual panels is debated among researchers.
