Michigan Central Station

Michigan Central Station is a Beaux-Arts railroad depot that opened in 1914 and served as Detroit’s main intercity train station before closing in 1988. The 18-story building became an enduring architectural landmark in the Corktown neighborhood during decades of vacancy and deterioration. In 2018 Ford Motor Company purchased the property and has since begun stabilization and restoration efforts as part of a longer-term redevelopment plan.
