Chenoweth Fort-Springhouse

The Chenoweth Fort-Springhouse, built around 1786, is a historic stone structure located near Middletown, Kentucky, and is considered the oldest standing structure in Louisville. This two-story building, originally fortified for defense, played a significant role in local history as the site of the Chenoweth Massacre in 1789, where Native Americans attacked the home of Captain Richard Chenoweth, resulting in tragic losses.
