Oastler Shopping Centre

The Oastler Shopping Centre, located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is a historic marketplace with roots dating back to 1930 when it was originally known as John Street Market. This vibrant centre features 176 stalls and various shops, including cafes that have been in operation since the 1960s. Named after abolitionist Richard Oastler, the market underwent significant renovations in 2002 and has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. However, as part of Bradford's regeneration efforts, the Oastler Centre is set to be demolished in late 2025 to make way for the new Darley Street Market. The site has also been featured in popular culture, hosting film and television productions, and is part of the Bradford Jewish Heritage Trail, highlighting its rich historical significance.
