Fairmount Apartments (Jersey City, New Jersey)

The Fairmount Apartments, affectionately known as the Grand Lady of Jersey City, are a historic landmark located in Hudson County, New Jersey. Constructed in the early 1900s, these apartments showcase the Arts and Crafts architectural style and were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. Designed by the architectural firm Newman and Harris, the complex features two L-shaped structures with a total of 59 senior residences today. Originally built to house 66 apartments, the Fairmount Apartments have a rich history, including ownership by Father Divine in 1962 and recent renovations.
