Pizzitola Sports Center

The Paul Bailey Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center, commonly known as 'the Pitz', is a vibrant 2,800-seat athletic venue located in Providence, Rhode Island. Opened in 1989, it serves as the home for Brown University Bears' men's and women's basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, wrestling, and squash teams. The center was constructed to replace the older Marvel Gymnasium and is named after alumnus Paul Bailey Pizzitola, thanks to a generous $2 million donation from his father. Notably, the lobby honors John Heisman, a legendary figure in American football and a Brown attendee. The Pizzitola Sports Center is a hub of athletic activity and a key part of the university's sports culture, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
