War Memorial Opera House

Designed by architect Arthur Brown Jr. and completed in 1932, the War Memorial Opera House is the primary performance home for the San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Ballet. It is part of the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center in the Civic Center neighborhood and has hosted major civic and cultural events since its opening. The building's stage and auditorium have been used for operatic premieres, ballet productions, and touring companies.
