Athena Parthenos inside Nashville's Parthenon

Centennial Park's full-scale replica of the Parthenon houses a 42-foot-tall statue of Athena Parthenos sculpted by Alan LeQuire and installed in 1990. The statue is gilded with gold leaf and holds a smaller figure of Nike in its outstretched hand. The Parthenon building itself is a documented 19th-century replica that functions as an art museum and landmark in Nashville.
