Tomlinson Hall

Tomlinson Hall was a historic public meeting hall located in Indianapolis, Indiana, inaugurated in 1886. Funded by the estate of local druggist Stephen D. Tomlinson, it served as a vibrant venue for concerts, political rallies, and community events until its destruction by fire in 1958. The hall featured a large auditorium with a capacity of over 4,800 people and hosted notable figures such as William Tecumseh Sherman and John Philip Sousa. Although the structure was lost, its legacy continues through the Indianapolis Catacombs, a preserved underground area, and the Charles L. Whistler Memorial Plaza, which commemorates the hall's significance in the city's history.
