Beit Achiqbash

Beit Achiqbash is a historic courtyard mansion located in the Al-Jdayde Christian quarter of Aleppo, Syria, built in 1757 by the wealthy Christian merchant Qarah Ali. Known for its stunning Mamluk-Rococo style courtyard adorned with intricate carvings, the mansion was transformed into the Popular Traditions Museum in 1973, showcasing Aleppine art and artifacts. Despite suffering severe damage during the Syrian civil war, restoration efforts have been ongoing since 2019, aiming to preserve its architectural heritage.
