Renwick Gallery - large-scale contemporary installation exhibitions

The Renwick Gallery, a branch of the Smithsonian American Art Museum at 1661 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, is dedicated to contemporary craft and decorative arts and is known for commissioning and hosting large-scale, site-specific installation exhibitions such as the 2015–2016 'Wonder' exhibition and the 2018 'No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man' show. Those exhibitions transformed the Renwick’s historic galleries with immersive, room-sized installations by contemporary artists and collectives. The Renwick continues to program temporary installation projects that utilize the building’s small-gallery scale and street-front presence.
