Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia and contains the archbishop's cathedra. Construction began in the 1840s and the building was completed in the mid-19th century; it was designed by architect Napoleon LeBrun. The cathedral fronts Benjamin Franklin Parkway and is a prominent site for major archdiocesan liturgies and events.
