USS Blueback (decommissioned U.S. Navy submarine at OMSI)

USS Blueback (SS-581), the last non-nuclear submarine to serve in the U.S. Navy, is permanently berthed at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and is open for public tours. The submarine was donated to OMSI in 1994 and is displayed at the museum's riverfront pier as a maritime exhibit. Its presence on the Willamette River provides a distinctive, nontraditional museum building for visitors.
