Flagler County Jail

The Flagler County Jail, also known as the 'Stockade', is a historically significant building located in Bunnell, Florida. Constructed in 1940 as part of a Works Progress Administration project during the New Deal era, it features WPA Rustic architectural style and Masonry Vernacular attributes. The jail served its purpose until the 1980s and has since housed various community services, including a food pantry and police department. Its historical importance lies in its representation of public infrastructure development during the Great Depression. Unfortunately, the building was demolished in 2019 due to safety concerns, marking the end of an era for this notable structure.
