Barnet House, originally known as Ever Ready House, is a striking twelve-storey office block located at 1255 High Road in Whetstone, London. Designed by architect Richard Seifert and completed in 1966, the building features a modern design with alternating bands of concrete and metal-framed windows. Initially serving as the headquarters for the British Ever Ready Electrical Company, it later became the main offices for Barnet London Borough Council until 2019. Plans to convert the building into residential flats faced criticism for the small size of the units, and a proposal was ultimately rejected by the London Mayor due to insufficient affordable housing.
