The Seattle Central Library, designed by Rem Koolhaas and Joshua Ramus of OMA with local firm LMN Architects, opened in 2004 and is noted for its unconventional glass-and-steel structure and interior organization. Visitors and residents frequently joke that the library's layout is confusing or maze-like despite its clear structural logic. The building houses the Seattle Public Library's central branch and distinct floor plates dedicated to different collections and services.
