The Dinner Party (Judy Chicago)

The Dinner Party is a large-scale installation artwork by Judy Chicago created between 1974 and 1979 and installed as a permanent work at the Brooklyn Museum’s Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. The piece consists of a triangular table with 39 elaborate place settings honoring specific historical and mythical women, accompanied by the Heritage Floor inscribed with nearly 1,000 additional women’s names. The Brooklyn Museum acquired and reopened the restored work in 2007, where it remains on public view as a site-specific museum installation.
