Washington Monument obelisk and observation level

The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the National Mall completed in 1884 and dedicated in 1885. It stands approximately 555 feet tall and is described as the world's tallest predominantly stone structure and tallest obelisk. An elevator provides access to its observation level near the top when the monument is open to visitors.
