Anthology Film Archives

Anthology Film Archives was founded in 1970 by Jonas Mekas and others as a center for the preservation, study, and exhibition of independent and experimental film. Located in the East Village, the institution maintains a significant archive of avant-garde and independent cinema and programs repertory screenings, retrospectives, and filmmaker events. Its screening series and collections have made it a longtime focal point for experimental-film scholarship and public presentation in New York City.
