Jackling House

The Jackling House, a historic mansion in Woodside, California, was designed by renowned architect George Washington Smith in 1925 for copper magnate Daniel Cowan Jackling. Known for its Spanish Colonial Revival style, the 17,000 sq ft estate featured a grand courtyard, open-air balconies, and a built-in pipe organ. Despite its historical significance, the house was demolished in 2011 by its last owner, Steve Jobs, following a contentious legal battle over preservation efforts. Today, remnants of the mansion's legacy can be explored at the Woodside History Museum, which houses artifacts salvaged from the estate.
