Fremont Street Experience canopy (downtown pedestrian mall)

The Fremont Street Experience is a five-block pedestrian mall on historic Fremont Street whose LED canopy and Viva Vision light show were installed and opened in 1995 as part of a downtown revitalization effort. The project covered the street with a continuous roof structure and preserved many of the district's historic neon signs beneath it. The canopy and pedestrianization replaced open-street vehicle traffic and are a notable example of late-20th-century urban infrastructure adaptation in Las Vegas.
