Old North Church (Christ Church in the City of Boston)

Built in 1723, Christ Church in the City of Boston (Old North Church) is the city's oldest surviving church building. It is famous for the April 18, 1775 lantern signal associated with Paul Revere's ride that warned of British troop movements, an event that draws visitors retracing Revolutionary-era sites. The church is an official stop on the Freedom Trail and attracts history pilgrims as well as those attending contemporary Anglican worship and guided tours. The site operates a museum and preserves original 18th-century features.
