Wallace Pratt Lodge

The Wallace Pratt Lodge, a historic summer residence located in the stunning Guadalupe Mountains of Texas, was built by petroleum geologist Wallace Pratt in the early 1930s. Designed by renowned architect John F. Staub, this charming cabin, known as the Stone Cabin, showcases local limestone and heart pine, nestled in a picturesque canyon with waterfalls and lush landscapes. Pratt, who played a significant role in establishing Guadalupe Mountains National Park, donated the lodge and surrounding 5,000 acres to the National Park Service. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the lodge offers a glimpse into the region's rich history and natural beauty, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers alike.
