Project Row Houses

Project Row Houses is a community-based arts and historic preservation project founded in 1993 in Houston's Third Ward by artist Rick Lowe and collaborators. It repurposes a block of shotgun houses as artist residency spaces, exhibition sites, and community programming focused on African American culture and neighborhood revitalization. The project is widely cited as an influential model of socially engaged art and urban historic conservation.
