Black American West Museum & Heritage Center

Founded in 1971 by Paul Stewart, the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center documents and interprets the roles of African Americans in the settlement and development of the American West. The museum preserves artifacts, photographs, and archival materials and offers rotating exhibits and educational programming about Black pioneers and Western history. It is located in Denver's historic Five Points neighborhood.
