Houston Astrodome

The Astrodome opened in 1965 as the world's first multi-purpose domed sports stadium. It served for decades as the home of the Houston Astros (MLB) and the Houston Oilers (AFL/NFL) and was a major engineering landmark of its era. The facility has been largely unused for regular major events since the late 1990s–early 2000s but remains an iconic structure in the NRG Park area.
