San Francisco Ferry Building & Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

The San Francisco Ferry Building opened in 1898 and was later restored and redeveloped as the Ferry Building Marketplace. Since 1993 the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, organized by CUESA, has operated on Saturdays featuring local farmers and artisan food producers and became a focal point for the city's farm-to-table and artisanal food culture. The site combines active commuter ferry service with retail vendors and restaurants that showcase Bay Area producers.
