Bearwood House

Bearwood House, located in Sindlesham, Berkshire, is a stunning Victorian country house designed by architect Robert Kerr and built between 1865 and 1874 for John Walter, the owner of The Times. This Grade II* listed building is celebrated for its impressive Jacobethan style and is considered one of England's major Victorian monuments. Originally part of a larger estate purchased by Walter's grandfather, the house underwent significant reconstruction, costing £129,000, which was double the initial estimate. After serving as a school for the sons of merchant sailors for nearly a century, Bearwood College closed in 2014, and the estate was acquired by the Reddam Group, now known as Reddam House, Berkshire.
