The Plaza Hotel

The Plaza Hotel, designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, opened in 1907 on the southeast corner of Central Park as a luxury hotel. Its chateauesque architecture and lavish public rooms have made it a frequent setting in literature and film, including appearances in adaptations of The Great Gatsby and the film Home Alone 2. The building has undergone multiple renovations and ownership changes while remaining a prominent Midtown landmark.
