Kirby Lofts

The Kirby Lofts, located at 917 Main Street in Downtown Houston, Texas, is an 11-story building originally constructed in 1926 by architect Alfred C. Finn. Initially designed to house the Kirby Theater and offices, it later became home to the upscale department store The Fashion, owned by Ben Wolfman. After a significant renovation in 1947, it transitioned to a branch of Neiman Marcus in 1955 and later served as the flagship store for Palais Royal until its closure in 2000. In 2004, the building was repurposed into residential apartments with retail space on the ground floor, blending historical charm with modern living in the heart of the city.
