Ann Arbor Bus Depot

The Ann Arbor Bus Depot, built in 1940 and designed in Art Deco style, served as a key intercity bus station until its demolition in 2014. Located at 116 W. Huron, it was recognized for its modern design and historical significance, being the last example of Streamline Moderne architecture in the city. The depot featured a striking facade with a black granite base and curved glass, and it housed amenities like a waiting area and lunch counter. Although it was demolished to make way for a hotel, its iconic facade and marquee were preserved, blending history with modern development.
