San Diego / Qualcomm Stadium (demolished Mission Valley stadium)

The stadium known variously as San Diego Stadium, Jack Murphy Stadium, Qualcomm Stadium, and SDCCU Stadium was a major Mission Valley sports venue that hosted the San Diego Chargers (NFL), the San Diego Padres for select events, Super Bowl games, and large concerts. After the Chargers relocated and teams moved to other venues, the stadium closed and demolition of the structure began in 2020, removing the longtime landmark from the Mission Valley skyline. The physical stadium was dismantled to clear the site for future redevelopment, ending more than five decades of use at that location.
