Ferrari Estates Building

The Ferrari Estates Building, located at 126 Charlotte Street in Cooktown, Queensland, is a heritage-listed former bank building known for its historical significance and architectural style. Constructed between 1890 and 1891, it served as the Cooktown branch of the Bank of North Queensland, one of the few indigenous banks established in the 19th century. Designed by architects Eyre & Munro, this two-storey brick structure features a distinctive façade with a symmetrical colonnade and semi-circular openings. The building reflects the prosperity of Cooktown during the gold mining boom and has witnessed the town's fluctuating fortunes over the years. After its closure as a bank in 1908, it has served various purposes, including a residence and grocery store.
