Eduardo H. Gato House

The Eduardo H. Gato House, also known as the Mercedes Hospital, is a historic home located in Key West, Florida. This Victorian-style wooden house, featuring a Cuban-style courtyard, was built by Cuban immigrant Eduardo H. Gato, a successful cigar merchant. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on April 11, 1973. Although it now serves as a private residential apartment complex, the site is marked with a historical plaque, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers interested in the architectural and cultural history of the area.
