Tanglewood is a historic house located in Chillicothe, Ohio, built in 1826, showcasing a unique blend of Greek Revival and Italianate architectural styles. Originally commissioned by clergyman John McClean and later owned by lawyer Richard Douglas, the house played a significant role in the Underground Railroad, with Dr. Albert Douglas, Sr. reportedly hiding escaped slaves in its attic. Notable for its elaborate design, including pillared porches and ornate friezes, Tanglewood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The residence is also linked to William Edwin Safford, a prominent naturalist and the first Vice-Governor of Guam.
