Elfreth's Alley - America's oldest continuously inhabited street

Elfreth's Alley is a surviving 18th‑century alley of rowhouses dating to about 1702 and is widely described as the oldest continuously inhabited residential street in the United States. The Elfreth's Alley Museum is located at 124 Elfreth's Alley and interprets the alley's colonial and Federal‑period domestic life. The narrow cobbled lane runs between Front and 2nd Streets in Old City and can be easy to miss amid nearby Independence attractions.
