John Perkins House (Castine, Maine)

The John Perkins House is a historic house museum located in Castine, Maine, built in 1765 and recognized for its Georgian architecture. It was moved to its current site in 1968-69 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house offers limited tours during July and August, showcasing its well-preserved interiors that reflect the 18th century. The basement features the Perkins Gallery, which displays antique farm tools and local history. Notably, this house is the only one in Castine that predates the American Revolutionary War and has a rich history of military occupation during significant conflicts.
