Mapparium (Mary Baker Eddy Library)

The Mapparium is a three-story, stained-glass globe built inside the Mary Baker Eddy Library in 1935. Visitors walk along a bridge that passes through the interior of the globe, an unusual architectural installation integrated into the building's structure. The Mapparium is noted for its acoustical properties, where sound can carry unusually well across the interior sphere.
