Ysleta Mission (Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de Ysleta del Sur)

The Ysleta Mission occupies the site of a Spanish mission established in 1680 by Tiwa (Tigua) people who resettled in the area after the Pueblo Revolt. The church on the site has been rebuilt multiple times; the present adobe and stone structure dates largely to the mid-19th century. The parish is often described in historical sources as the oldest continuously operated parish in Texas. It remains an active Catholic parish in the Diocese of El Paso.
