W. W. Shirk Building

The W. W. Shirk Building, also known as the Canopic Apartments, is a historic structure located in Muncie, Indiana, originally built in 1906 with elements dating back to 1889. Once a popular residential and commercial space, it fell into disrepair by the late 20th century but was revitalized through a significant renovation completed in 2009. The building, now featuring 24 modern residential units, retains its Italian Renaissance Revival architectural style while incorporating contemporary amenities. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and represents a successful example of historic preservation and urban renewal.
