Jack Thomas House

The Jack Thomas House, located at 108 E. Main St. in Leitchfield, Kentucky, is a historic landmark built in 1810 and recognized as the oldest brick house in the area. It features a unique architectural design with a two-story five-bay brick structure and original Palladian windows. Initially constructed by Jack Thomas, a long-serving clerk for Grayson County, the house has undergone expansions and changes over the years, including a significant renovation in 1925. It has also been known as The Gardner Place, reflecting its connection to notable local figures such as George H. Gardner, the founder of the Leitchfield Deposit Bank. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and local history.
