Pythian Temple (New York City)

The Pythian Temple, located in Manhattan's Lincoln Square, is a historic building originally constructed in 1927 for the Knights of Pythias. Designed in a flamboyant Egyptian Revival style by architect Thomas W. Lamb, it features striking architectural elements such as polychrome columns and Pharaonic figures. The building served as a meeting place for Pythian lodges and later housed a recording studio where iconic artists like Bill Haley and Buddy Holly recorded music. In the late 20th century, it was converted into luxury condominiums, preserving its unique architectural heritage while becoming a notable residential address, once home to the parents of singer Lady Gaga.
