Hepner Hall

Hepner Hall, the oldest building at San Diego State University (SDSU), is a historic academic structure completed in 1931 and designed in the Mission Revival Style. It serves as a symbol of the university, featuring a striking open-faced bell tower and an impressive archway. Home to the School of Social Work and various research centers, it is the most photographed building on campus. The building's architecture includes a ribbed Moorish-style vaulted ceiling and is framed by turquoise and white tiles. Renamed in 1976 in honor of former university president Walter R. Hepner, Hepner Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a focal point during the annual commencement ceremonies when its bells are rung.
