Locke's Meat Market

Locke's Meat Market, a historic building in Lockeford, California, was constructed in 1883 and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. This two-story brick structure features a distinctive five-bayed oriel window and originally served as a meat market on the ground floor, while the second floor provided living quarters for the Locke family. Luther Locke, the son of one of Lockeford's founders, operated the market, and his wife also ran a dressmaking shop in the same building. In 1939, the first floor was transformed into a barbershop, showcasing the building's evolving role in the community.
