Motown Museum (Hitsville U.S.A.)

The Motown Museum occupies the original Hitsville U.S.A. house where Berry Gordy founded Motown Records and recorded many hits beginning in 1959. The small first-floor Studio A is preserved as the site where dozens of Motown records were produced, and the museum displays artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from artists such as The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and The Temptations. Guided tours visit Studio A and other rooms that illustrate the label’s early business and creative operations.
