Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge

The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is a 3,600-acre city-owned nature preserve in northwest Fort Worth established in 1964. The refuge protects mixed-grass prairie, forest, and wetlands, offers more than 20 miles of hiking trails, and operates an interpretive center for visitors. It also maintains a small herd of American bison and protects fossil-bearing outcrops along the Trinity River.
